Skin that speaks. Light that’s yours.

Under a translucent skin, light waits. A ring of it in your palm, a seam of it tracing your forearm, yours to set: one color, every color, or none at all.

This is a limb that emotes. It can wave hello, throw a peace sign that glows, flare when you walk into the room. Not a hand pretending to be flesh. A hand proud of what it is, tuned to who you are.

02 Connected

It’s also a phone.

Thumb to your ear, pinky to your lips. The oldest gesture in the book, except now it actually works. A speaker rides in the thumb. A microphone listens from the pinky. Your arm takes the call.

And on the other end of every question is Xyber, the agent that lives in the arm. Ask it out loud; it answers in your hand. No pocket, no fumbling, no screen between you and the world. You are the device.

03 Mission

Flip the story.

XyberLimbs exists to change what people see when they see a prosthetic. From something that happened to you, to something you chose to become.

I founded XyberLimbs to flip the story around amputation. Too often, prosthetics are framed as "replacement" or "coping". I'm building a company that treats them as an upgrade: devices that restore capability and unlock confidence, identity, and pride.

XyberLimbs is driven by a simple belief: if the product is powerful enough, beautiful enough, and expressive enough, amputees won't feel like they're settling for something "less". They'll feel like they're getting something worth showing off.

04 Origin

Why I’m building this

I didn’t set out to build prosthetics. I came to it near the end of my Master’s of Engineering in Robotics & Controls, in the Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering at Western University, in London, ON, Canada. I’m of Lebanese descent, and as the war in Gaza became impossible to look away from, most of all, the children who lost limbs, it weighed on me heavily. I kept returning to one thought: I have the knowledge, and I have the will, to do something about it.

So I stayed. I already had the credits to graduate, but I took an extra semester just to convert my course-based Master’s into a project-based one with a thesis. I had to beg the head of my program to allow it. He thought a bionic prosthetic was too much and well outside the scope of the program. I kept insisting until he relented: if I could find an advisor willing to take me on, I could do it.

That wasn’t easy. Almost no one believed I could build the prototype I had in mind. Even the head of the Biomedical Engineering program declined. Then Dr. Lyndon Brown, my modern control theory and linear systems professor, said yes. He changed the course of my life and my career, and I owe this to him. It’s thanks to him that I was given the opportunity to research and learn so much about prosthetics and bionic limbs on my own.

That is where XyberLimbs began. My aim is a prosthetic that, one day, as infrastructure is rebuilt in Gaza, in Lebanon, and in other places torn apart by war, can reach the people who need it. For so many of them, losing a limb was not the worst thing that happened; most lost their homes, many lost their parents, or their siblings, and often their entire families. Their life as they know it will never be the same.

I can’t bring back the loved ones they’ve lost, but I can try to give them a limb better than the one war took. Something that helps them feel not less, but more. Something worth showing off to the world. We owe this to them at the very least.
